Mandala® Ombre Yarn

SKU: 551-201CM

$8.99

Each color in Mandala® Ombré gradually blends into the other in both tonal and multi-colored versions. The printing technique allows for some of the cream yarn base to show through, creating a hand-dyed, artisanal effect. Mandala Ombré is slightly thicker than the original, spun with multiple plies of premium acrylic, which give it the look and feel of merino at a fraction of the cost.

Color: Cool [551-201CM] Tonal stripes of Medium Grey, Elephant Grey, Dark Hunter Green, Pale Gray

Color very different than advertised

I have used Mandala Ombre before and love it in general -- nice texture, easy to work with, beautiful colors, etc. This time I purchased the Zen colorway (shades of green). I understand that there can be variations in color, but the skeins I got were soooo different from what was advertised on the website and on the label itself -- the colors were strongly in the teal family, not a true green at all. I was under time pressure and didn't have time to look for a different yarn, and the resulting baby blanket is certainly pretty . . . but it will not match the decor in the baby's room, which is a classic shade of green (one of the shades you would find in the photo of Mandala Ombre Zen online or the photo that's printed on the yarn's label). Not sure if my photo does justice to the difference in colors, but it's definitely noticeable. I'm sure the recipient will love it, but I am a little disappointed. I will buy Mandala Ombre again, but only when I am not worried about matching anything (which is the case most of the time).

My favorite acrylic yarn!!

This yarn is BUTTERY soft, the colors are vibrant & it’s a breeze to work with! I bought more from my local Walmart & the quality is the same! I’m excited to work with it again!

Very soft

I really like this yarn. The gradients are nice and don't change too quickly. It's very soft and not fuzzy like most acrylic, it's almost cotton-like with how smooth it is. I've made a couple of scarves and a blanket with this and I'm very happy with it. With crochet it can be easy to accidentally grab up or miss a thread in it because it doesn't have a tight twist to it, but I didn't think it was that hard to manage that. I can see getting more in the future.

Wonderful new yarn!

I love the way they made the colors look like a painted yarn. And they blend perfectly too. This yarn is worsted weight so it works up very fast compared to the original mandala. And it is so very soft! I made my sweater with the gray blend"cool". It sure is gorgeous.

Wonderful all-around

It’s soft, perfect for draped creations, and the color scheme rolls out beautifully with mostly beautiful transitions. Even in the same lot some of the purple is a bit off, but I like the character of this style of dye job- so much that after making this tranquil chevron Queen blanket for my friend, I am moving to make a Chevron afghan in the beautiful Zen color scheme (my fave color combos)
