I really enjoyed this project, and it came out beautifully. So beautifully that my husband wouldn't let me give it away! I do a lot of my knitting outside the house, so typically don't do very bulky projects. But since you knit it in strips, it never (until assembly) gets too big to carry around. I notice it's classed as intermediate; I'd barely call myself an intermediate knitter now, a couple of years later, and I didn't find it hard. Familiarity with slip stitch helps, but you'll know it by the end if you don't already! And of course, that technique knits up relatively quickly.
Another plus: I always worry about the backsides for items where you might see them, especially afghans. But this is actually quite attractive on the reverse, as well, especially if you are careful with weaving in your ends.

The only downsides: you end up with a lot of leftover yarn of many colors. So if you like your stash to be "efficient," you're SOL. Also, it is a lot of picking up stitches along the edges in putting the strips together. That was the bigger learning curve for me. I almost never give out five stars, but am tempted for this one!
