Just Hemp fits all temps! This yarn is 100% hemp, which feels cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Like linen and other plant fibers, hemp works up into a durable fabric with wonderful drape. The yarn will soften as you stitch with it and get even softer with every wash, dry, and wear! Create beautiful projects like skirts and sweaters, washcloths and bags, and even blankets. The CYC 5 weight yarn comes in a sophisticated palette of 14 muted colors.

All colors are currently out of stock.

Experimental buy

I purchased this yarn as I want to use more sustainable yarns. This buy was an experiment. Splits easily, though not a big deal. A little rough going around my wrap finger. That said, I do like how the stitches look. I read that it softens after washing/ drying, so that's the next step in the experiment. I do plan on stocking up before fully out of stock. Bummed that it's discontinued.

Great results

I purchased hemp “yarn” for a market bag by Pink Plumeria, the Ulana bag. Yes, the yarn is a little stringy but I didn’t find it troublesome. The texture and feel of the bag are perfect; sturdy, pliable, nice weight.
Along with being sustainable, I think the hemp yarn is a good product and I hope it continues to be available. I’ve purchased another color to try a larger bag and look forward to the results.
Ps, there are so few patterns made with this yarn, and no kits. Why not offer the Pink Plumeria pattern?

Put it in the dryer!

Seriously. I know it sounds terrifying to put your hand knitted or hand crocheted items in the dryer, but it softens up so much. I don't even use dryer sheets (although I do use wool balls, which may also help). If you're using this for anything that you'll be wearing, once the item is done, wash it, then take a deep breath, and put. It. In. The. Dryer. You'll thank me later.

I've made a couple different things out of this yarn, including a scarf, and a cocoon shawl (it's that green thing just behind me in the picture). I wore the shawl to work and got tons of compliments on it. I've noticed most of these reviews mention making household items rather than wearable items, but it really does make beautiful clothing and accessories. It has really excellent drape too. It's perfect for stuff like the cocoon shawl.

It is a bit rough, but it's not rough like wool. It feels more like lying in the grass in your swimsuit when you were a kid. I have pretty sensitive skin and can only wear the softest wool, but the roughness of the hemp doesn't bother me. It's not itchy; just slightly rough.

The yarn does also split quite a bit while you're working with it, but if you're skilled/experienced enough to get around that, it's totally worth it.

Nice yarn for sturdier projects

I used this yarn to make some hamster pouches and they turned out great.

Nice

It is a little frustrating to work with it, because of all the strands, but the outcome is beautiful. I’ve bought it before and I’ll buy it again

Is this yarn being discontinued?

I love that the price on this wonderful yarn has been reduced but I’m really worried that it is going to be discontinued. It is the only source of 100% hemp yarn that I can find.
