College Blanket

I used the "Compact Car" blanket pattern but I doubled the number of cast on stitches and doubled the length of the blanket. I used Hometown yarn in Fort Worth Blue and Syracuse Orange to make my son a blanket as a gift for college. I choose these colors because he's going to Bucknell University. The blanket came out beautiful and soft.

Hometown Yarn

I was very pleased with the Hometown yarn I purchased to make Valentine's hats for friends and neighbors. Colors were as expected and it was easy and quick to work with. My only complaint would be finding several knots in some of the skeins, a few of them quite close together.

Super soft and cute.. some colors are disappointing though.

I got red, white, yellow in the Hometown yarns as well as in particular the sleepy hollow blue. The first three are perfect and true to their colors but the sleepy hollow was really disappointing. I get it’s a speckled blue but the two colors were way different compared to what the site looked like in my opinion and thus don’t really serve my project (basically has way more dark denim color than light compared to photos on-site). Would’ve been okay but I waited just over two weeks for it to arrive which felt like a long time for 2 of each yarn.

Overall the yarn quality is really good and soft, looks a little like it can unravel but working with it I’ve had no problems. Every other color looked great and accurate to site so I am happy with those.

Good color choices, The super bulky works up quickly and looks soft no unraveling. Looks excellent in all projects.

Soft and easy to work with

This was my first time using this yarn. I bought the Huntington Foliage to make a little stuffed chicken for a friend who is going through a rough patch. The yarn is so soft and was so easy to work with. I also bought a few other good "chicken" colors so I'm looking forward to trying those as well and I've got future ideas for some of the other colors. My only "complaint" might be that I'd like to see a bit more yarn in each skein, but other than that, I'm a fan.
