Wonderful yarn for a temperature blanket

I wanted to crochet a temperature blanket for both the year I was born and this current year and compare them both. I chose Heartland yarn because of the soft heather colors. I’m most of the way through my birth year blanket and I love how the Heartland yarn is working up. All the colors blend well together.

Favorite Acrylic Yarn

This is my go-to acrylic yarn. It's super soft and has a beautiful color range that creates a nice depth to each project. It tends to split so I have to be more intentional with my stitches and work a little slower. But the outcome is always beautiful and worth it.

Very nice with a few problems...

I've used Heartland for many projects and had great success with it. The colors are have been exactly as described and the feel of this yarn is very soft and cushy. The main issue I had with my recent purchase was that there were A LOT of split/cut areas along the length of the yarn. Every three to four feet of yarn (in three of the skeins so far) have had spots where it is "frayed" (for lack of a better word). I keep having to cut the yarn and reattach it with a magic knot because if I leave the pieces that have separated from their other half, I fear that my sweater could unravel or split in those areas after it has been washed a few times. Since I'm having to do this with three of the seven skeins so far, I'm afraid I may not have enough yarn to complete my project due to all the cutting and re-joining I need to do. This is really the first time I've ever encountered this problem, all my other Lion Brand purchases have been great.

Hi Tracy - we're sorry that you encountered less-than-perfect areas of yarn! Please send these photos to our quality control team at support@email.lionbrand.com, along with the dye lot number from your label, and we'll be happy to help.

So soft!

This yarn is SO soft! Smooth and easy to work with even after I had to undo some of my work 3 times :)
The only thing is in 3 of the 4 balls I’ve used so far, it has been broken on the inside in some places. Not a big problem though.

Gorgeous colors

I chose this yarn to crochet a multi-colored blanket at the request of my nephew. I LOVE the way it's turning out. The mid-tones work really well together, and the blanket is soft and a good weight. I did notice that some of the colors are a tint or two darker than the others, so keep that in mind when you're ordering online. For example, I ordered the Hot Springs purple and realized I should have ordered the Kabuki Valley purple, which is lighter and would have gone better with the other colors I got. Once I'm done with this blanket, I'll be immediately ordering more Heartland to make another. It's very easy to work with.
