Fisherman’s Wool is working well for stitch definition in the jacket I’m making. I’m using a twisted stitch panel up the center of the back with matching cable panels on either side. The front will have the same cable panels.
Bought this wool to continue working on family gifts. Lovely wool for Aran style blankets at a reasonable price.
I’ve been wanting to try this wool for a long while, but was hesitant about an allergic response and the scratch value of most wools. I’m glad I purchased this! Though it is a bit scratchy, I have not reacted too much while wearing the scarf I made. I especially like it to make adorable and classy little cutlery pouches to decorate my daughter’s holiday table! I loooove the colors (I bought natural and brown).
This was exactly what I was looking for. I wanted a 100% wool sweater at a reasonable cost. Worked up easily and quickly!
Unlike most white yarns this one DOES felt,
I was a little (okay maybe a lot) concerned to try crocheting my first felted hat. It was really easy. I went online and ordered Lion Brand Fisherman's Wool Birch Tweed and it crocheted beautifully. Easy to work with; no unexpected knots; tight enough twist that my hook went where it was supposed to and did not split the yarn. True to the advertising it felted beautifully. I also purchased Fisherman's Wool Brown Heather and I'm going to knit a floppy brim hat. Would definitely recommend for the beginner or advanced crafter.
