I Almost Gave Up...

...but now I love it. I am tall (6'). I did not extend the foundation chain far enough. When I pinned the seam and tried it on, the neckline was covering half my face, the right side wasn't long enough, and it looked awful. I was crushed. I decided to put it aside for a few days. My mom - who is much shorter than me - was crocheting one for herself along with me. The pattern says to block the body before seaming, which she did. This made ALL the difference. I blocked the body on mine. This solved all the issues with the neckline. Obviously, I couldn't extend the foundation chain. So, at the suggestion of my best crochet buddy, I added five rows of Herringbone HDC to the right edge of the shawl. Problem solved! If you didn't know the pattern, you would think that was the way it was supposed to be. Perfect! I love it. Blocking really changes the drape of this poncho. Do not judge it until you have done it!
