Homespun® Yarn

From shawls to sweaters to throws, this yarn can't be beat for softness and sheer touch-ability. With solids, heathers, and beautiful self-striping 'painterly' colors, Homespun® comes in gorgeous shades you'll love. Please note that some colors have long, slow color variations that cause them to subtly stripe. This is deliberate and adds to the beauty of the finished garment; such yarns are designated as our 'painterly' colors.

soft yarn

I am the leader of our prayer shawl ministry at first united Methodist church in Waynesvile, nc. One of our favorite yarns is the homespun yarns, It knits up beautifully! Also, we have weavers in our group and this yarn is lovely. It is one of the softest yarns we have. I will be ordering more in the future. Susan Balentine

Homespun yarn is great

Homespun yarn is my favorite yarn to work with. I am part of a prayer shawl ministry and we use homespun yarn for almost all of the prayer shawls we make.

I love working with homespun yarn. So many colors and works up nicely for shawls and ponchos.

Getting comfy with Homespun

While I haven’t made the project I bought the yarn for yet, I have made the same item using Homespun before. While it’s a little bit fiddly crocheting into the chain, it works up beautifully after that.

Soft but watch for splitting

This yarn comes in some lovely colors. So far, I’ve used it on two blankets and am about to finish a hooded pullover sweater. The blankets were crocheted and the sweater is knitted. My cautionary note is that due to the unique construction of the yarn, it has a tendency to split and that tendency is worse when crocheting. That said, the resulting fabric is soft and has a beautiful drape.
