Stitchfinder: Crochet Block: Cat's Head

The pattern is for a domestic cat but with a little bit of fiddling of the coloring it could be any cat species. Keep the shapes bold and remember that diagonals to the left work better than those to the right.

Additional materials
1/6" (4mm) bell, gold, 1.

Foundation chain: Using yarn A, ch 29.
Row 1: insert the hook into the 3rd ch from the hook, work 1sc this completes the first 2 sts. 1sc into each ch to the end of the row-28 sts. 
Cont to work using sc and the chart as reference. Ch 2 (counts as 1 sc) at the beginning of each row, and work the last sc into the bottom of beg-ch before turning. Read the chart from right to left on odd numbered rows and left to right on even numbered rows. 
Fasten off yarn.

Collar 
Foundation chain: Using yarn D, insert the hook under the the st mark with a cross to the right in row 27, join in yarn ch 2, sc under the stitch to the left. Turn.
Row 1 (wrong side): Ch 2 (counts as 1sc) 1sc into the next st.Turn. Rep row 1 until the strip is long enough to reach the crosses marked on row 15, ending with a right side row.
Insert the hook through the bell loop and under the marked st to the left of row 15 and complete a sc. 1sc under the next marked st.
Fasten off yarn.
